Sutton confirmed as Assistant Secretary of Commerce

The United States Senate has confirmed former association CEO William G. Woody Sutton as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Manufacturing and Services. The appointment will make Sutton, who is a retired Navy Rear Admiral, a critical administration point person for the manufacturing and private sectors. Most recently, Sutton served as an officer of the National Association of Manufacturer’s Council of Manufacturing Associations and played a lead role in NAM policy development and legislative advocacy.
